This is a textbook from the level 1 of the french language course for beginners. It includes explanations and examples of all words and sentences. The book is to be used with a teacher, who will adapt it according to the needs of his/her students. The book contains practice exercises that can be solved by students or by a teacher during class time without notes or help from other people. A glossary makes life easy since you only have to look it up when you don’t know how to say something in french. If your teacher misses any part, there are very detailed questions at the end of each chapter so he/she could supplement as needed. The book is split into 10 chapters. The first one is the only one you use to learn how to speak french, while the other ones are used to learn how to write french. Each chapter has at least 8 lessons. Each lesson has an introduction which briefly describes what you will be learning in it, and then there are two or more exercises that help you practice what was just explained in the introduction before moving on to the next part of the chapter.A crossword puzzle is also found at the end of each chapter, which helps students stretch their vocabulary by using words they have already learned in a combination that they didn’t know before or weren’t expecting. Every chapter in the book has its own theme, but each one has a wide variety of topics which make it easier to learn french in a fun way. The chapters are: introduction (with basic expressions for when you first arrive in france, like how to ask for directions), housing (so you can talk about where you live and how much your rent is), shopping (how to ask where something is, how much it costs, etc. and how to respond to those questions depending on whether you know the answer or not), parts of the body (so you can describe how something is affecting your body, like “my head hurts” or “my knee hurts”), personality (when you go away, it is nice to know some things about the people you just met and their personality: here is where they can find out about yours and ask others about theirs), feelings and moods (how do we describe what we just did, what we are doing right now, etc. By describing our feelings and moods we can describe our situation and what we want to do), and the last one is the “finale”: general questions. This chapter has two parts: questions about everyday life and more specific ones related to the language of your host country (what you do for a living, where you go on holiday, etc.). This book is perfect for beginners since it explains everything in such a simple way that anyone can understand it. The vocabulary is also good because there is only a small number of words that every student might need during lessons, but not before. So no major vocabulary mistakes can be made by students since there are only a few tricky words in this book. cfa1e77820
